South Bay Tech Rescue helps Lawndale residents and small businesses sort out everyday technology without expecting them to know the technical terms. We can work from the message on the screen, the task that stopped working, or the change you noticed.
Help with the technology you already use
Not every call starts with broken hardware. You may need help signing in to email, connecting a phone to Wi-Fi, finding photos, adjusting text size, or understanding a setting that changed after an update.
Bring the question you actually want answered. Step-by-step coaching can be part of setup and everyday device help.
- Email, software, sign-in, and update questions
- New or existing computers, phones, and tablets
- Larger text, sound, notifications, and simpler settings
- Files and photos that need to move or be backed up
- Printers, scanners, Wi-Fi, and connected devices
Moving from an old device to a new one
Keep the old device, its charger, and the new device together. Do not erase, trade in, or give away the old device until important photos, documents, and account access have been checked on the new one.
A transfer depends on the condition of the old device, available storage, account access, and the kind of information being moved. We can explain what can be checked and what may need another option.
Pause when a warning demands money or a phone call
A browser warning that tells you to call a number, buy gift cards, send money, or allow remote access should be treated cautiously. Do not use the number shown in the warning.
If you already responded, write down what happened. We can check for common unwanted software and help with practical account-safety steps. A bank, card issuer, recovery lab, or security specialist may also be needed depending on what occurred.
