Technology help should begin with a clear problem, a clear boundary, and your permission. These service standards explain how to prepare, what remains under your control, and when another provider or specialist may be the right next step.
Before work begins
A first call starts with the device, what it is doing, what changed, and the task you need to get back to. You do not need to diagnose the cause or use technical language.
We will discuss whether the problem sounds suitable for an on-site visit, remote help, your internet or account provider, or another specialist. Pricing is not listed online, so ask about current pricing and availability during the call.
- Identify the affected device or equipment
- Describe the exact message or behavior you see
- Explain when the problem began and what changed beforehand
- Mention whether the equipment belongs to you, a business, or an employer
Mobile service, not a walk-in shop
South Bay Tech Rescue provides mobile help at homes and small businesses in Redondo Beach, Torrance, Lawndale, Hermosa Beach, and Manhattan Beach. There is no walk-in storefront, so call before moving or bringing equipment anywhere.
For a visit, provide any parking, gate, building-access, pet, or workspace information that helps the appointment begin safely. Keep the affected device, charger, cables, and relevant accessories together when possible.
You control accounts, passwords, and approvals
You remain in control of your accounts and devices. Enter your own passwords and one-time security codes when they are required. Do not send passwords in advance, and do not leave a password list open when it is unrelated to the work.
Account providers decide their own identity and recovery rules. We can guide official recovery steps, but cannot bypass a provider's checks, unlock an account without authorization, or guarantee that access will be restored.
- Use your own recovery phone, recovery email, or trusted device
- Approve account, equipment, and network changes before they are made
- Have the account owner or business decision-maker available when needed
- Check employer policy before arranging help for a managed work device
Remote help starts only with your consent
Remote help is suitable only for some software, email, settings, update, and coaching questions on a computer with a working internet connection. Begin a remote session only after you call the number on this website.
You approve screen sharing, stay with the device, and can stop the session at any time. Close private documents and unrelated account pages before sharing. A computer that will not start, broken hardware, and a full internet outage usually need a different next step.
Clear limits protect your time and information
Some work belongs with the company that controls the account, service, or equipment. Internet-line problems may need the provider. Mechanical printer repairs may need the manufacturer or a printer specialist. Physical phone repairs, advanced security, larger servers, regulated systems, and severely damaged storage may need other specialists.
File recovery depends on the condition of the device and cannot be guaranteed. Parts must be checked for compatibility, may need to be ordered, and some installations or physical repairs may need a specialist.
Plain language and a useful handoff
You can ask for a step to be slowed down, repeated, or explained without technical terms. For coaching or setup, the goal is to make the next everyday task clearer, not to rush through a list of settings.
If another company needs to continue the work, we will explain the observed problem and why that boundary matters. Keep any account case number, device model, error message, or provider instruction where you can find it for the next conversation.
